RISC (Apple) and CISC (Intel)

RISC (Apple) versus CISC (Intel) is a fairly popular topic be discussed in the Net. CISC is a continuation of the Complex Instruction Set Computer. Most of the PC using the CPU is based on the CISC architecture, for example Intel and AMD CPU. CISC chips have a different number of chip and complex instructions. CISC is the philosophy behind the hardware that is always growing faster than the software. For this, needed a powerful set of instructions, which can provide a programmer, some assembly instructions with the short program. In general, the CISC chip is running slower than RISC per instructions, but rather use a bit RISC instructions.
RISC (risk-red), is a continuation of the Reduced Instruction Set Computer. RISC chip built starting mid-1980 as a CISC chip. RISC philosophy is in no chip using assembly language instructions are complex, as used in the CISC. An example is the use of chip RISC CPU on Apple. Therefore, simple instructions that will be faster and better than large, complex and slow as CISC. RISC other advantages because of the simple instructions, the RISC chip only has a few transistor, which will create a simple RISC designed and manufactured for cheap to write a compiler that powerful.
RISC provides convenience in the hardware, but in more complex software. Software developers must write the RISC many friends for the same task. Therefore, the RISC architecture design may not be the best in the future, after the occurrence of the CISC chip that is faster and cheaper. However, RISC has been exist for more than 10 years and has been slam the market CISC. According tomax7.com, about 75 percent of processor-based CISC architecture, and most of them is the standard x86. However, the current RISC chip also has a lot of instruction, almost the same as the CISC chip. For example, the PowerPC 601-based RISC architecture, support more than instructions that use the Pentium chip CISC.
