Motorola Xoom vs LG Optimus Pad

Motorola Xoom and LG Optimus Pad, both use the Android operating system 3.0 Honeycomb specifically developed for tablet devices. The most obvious difference is in size, Motorola Xoom has a 10.1-inch screen, while LG Optimus Pad has a size of 8.9 inch.

Motorola Xoom has 10.1-inch screen has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, while LG Optimus Pad has screen with resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. Both use a capacitive touch screen. Other features which are owned by the second tablet is an accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. And Motorola Xoom has a barometer, a tool to forecast the weather.

Motorola Xoom excel in network technology used, because the 3G version of Motorola Xoom can be upgraded free of charge so it can run on Verizon’s LTE 4G network. Motorola Xoom expected to support 4G networks can provide 5-12 Mbps downlink speed. LG Optimus Pad can only run at up to 10.2 Mbps HSDPA network. Both tablet offers other connectivity features like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1

Both tablet has the same performance, because Motorola and LG Optimus Pad Xoom both use dual-core processor NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz. LG Optimus Pad has a capacity of 32GB internal memory and no support for memory expansion. While Motorola Xoom has a capacity of at least 32GB of internal memory and comes with expansion via microSD slot up to 32GB.

LG Optimus Pad has two powerful 5-megapixel camera behind him that is able to take 3D images and video. 3D video camera capable of recording 720p and 1080p capable HD video recording. But to be able to enjoy 3D images and video camera results, can only be seen through a screen with 3D technology through the existing HDMI port on the LG Optimus Pad. And LG Optimus Pad also has a 2 megapixel camera front. While Motorola Xoom has a 5 megapixel camera and 2 megapixel camera for video calls.

Motorola Xoom and LG Optimus Pad seem to be priced with the same price range. It’s hard to declare the winner of the second tablet. LG Optimus Pad comes with two cameras capable of taking stereoscopic 3D images and video. While Motorola Xoom offers a bigger screen that is 10.1 and upgrading to run on the super fast 4G network, but unfortunately can only be used in the United States only through Verizon. And if you want a powerful multimedia features we recommend you choose LG Optimus Pad.
