Know the IP Address of Sender Email

When you receive an email, you are surely not only receive the message, but at the same time with a header to bring important information to you. Important information in the header which brought along with email can inform you of email be send and who send them. For that, you have to find the IP address of the sender first. If you want to know the IP address and all information from an email sender, you can use the methods below to tracking the email sender.

Many email providers have been available, but there are a few popular as yahoo, gmail, hotmail, rediff, and others. At this time, only to be a provider dang yahoo email mail only, and for other email providers can also apply the following steps:

For Yahoo Mail users:

  • Log in to Yahoo! Mail with your username and password.
  • Click on Inbox or whichever folder you use to store email.
  • Open the Mail contents.
  • If you do not see the headers above the mail message, it means that your header is not displayed. To display the headers:

a. Click Options in the top-right corner.
b. In the Page Options page, click General Preference.
c. Scroll down to Message where you will see option Header
d. You can check the menu to select “Show All” for all the headers in the message coming
e. Click the Save button.
f. Back to the mail and open mail.

  • You will see a header like the following:

Yahoo! headers: name
Look for Received: from followed by the IP address between square brackets []. Here, it is 202.65.138.109.
Number 202.65.138.109 is the IP address of the sender’s email.

For Gmail users:

  • Log in to Gmail with your username and password.
  • Click on Inbox or whichever folder you use to store email.
  • Open the Mail contents.
  • To display the headers:

a. Click More options
b. Click Show Original.

  • You will see a header like the following:

Gmail headers: name
Look for Received: from followed by the IP address between square brackets []. Here, it is 202.65.138.109.
