Intel Xeon 5600 Series 6 Core Processor
Intel has introduced its first processor cores to 6 servers and workstations based Westmere 32nm architecture, which can provide better performance and support for improvisation plus encryption security for virtual environments. Intel Xeon 5600 chips this series will present and support for 4 or 6 cores per chip, which means there are 8 or 12 thread-per-chip, because thanks to Intel’s Hyperthreading technology.
Hardware Intel Xeon 5600 series offers 60 percent better performance than previous generation Intel processors. Intel makes new silicon chip that can be used in the 15-core server using only one box Xeon 5600, according to Intel, and can return their investment in at least 5 months. Xeon 5600 chip is composed of 2-socket system, 6-core X5680 3.33GHz and I X5677 quad core 3.46GHz, which were both designed for temperature 130w. As for 95W version, 6-core 2.93GHz Xeon X5670, and X5667 quad core has 3.0GHz clock speed. Intel said the Xeon 5600 Series has a strong security through AES encryption acceleration-NI and Trusted Execution Technology (TXT) Intel.
For vendors who plan to apply the Xeon 5600 series chips include Dell, Fujitsu, HP and IBM
